Janu Basti / Knee Oil-Pool
‘Janu’ is the knee joint, & ‘Basti’ here means building a dam-like structure that holds oil. Janu Basti therapy is excellent for relief knee & joint pain & sore ligaments of the knee. Pain relieving Ayurvedic medicinal oils are poured on both the knees followed by a Marma therapy massage. This heals the internal muscle fibres, helps the complex knee joint to strengthen by internally repairing the damaged tissues. This is followed by a relaxing massage that increases the capacity of this weight bearing joint by reducing swelling, inflammation, pain & improving the lymphatic circulation of the joint. Over time, it also helps relieve varicosity of the legs.
Procedure
Janu Basti therapy begins with the preparation of medicinal Ayurvedic oils specifically designed for knee pain relief. These oils are then poured onto both knees, forming a dam-like structure, which helps to concentrate the healing properties on the affected areas. The therapy is followed by a Marma therapy massage, which targets key pressure points around the knee joint. This massage helps to repair damaged tissues and strengthens the internal muscle fibers. The therapy works to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation while improving lymphatic circulation in the joint. Over time, it helps restore function and flexibility to the knee, while also addressing issues like varicosity in the legs.
